Welcome to Mad Cat! We're a small, family-owned shop tucked away in the coastal town of Mathews, Virginia, right on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. We're a mother-and-son team (yes really!) — which means every product gets two generations of opinions before it ever makes it into the shop. We like to think that's why we have something for everyone.
MEET THE FAMILY
Cathleen is the mom half of the operation. When she's not stitching towels, she moonlights as an engineering and environmental consultant — so yes, you're getting professional-grade attention to detail with every order.
Nick is a former US Marine who brings a totally different (but very welcome) flavor to the shop: a love for cars, serious gym time, and a sharp eye for social media. He's the reason we have products beyond what mom would've dreamed up on her own.
ABOUT THE NAME
Quick story: "Mad Cat" came from MADeleine + CAThleen, the original mother-child duo. When Madeleine moved away, Nick stepped in to keep the family business going — and added his own spin along the way. So, there's actually no cat. Our mascot is Kevin, our German Shepherd puppy who offers minimal help --- but maximum cuteness!
WHAT WE MAKE
We specialize in custom microfiber cloths and towels designed to make everyday life a little easier — and a lot more personal. Whether you're detailing your car, wiping off the dog (we get it — Kevin is a mess), hitting the lanes, heading to the gym, cheering your favorite team on game day, or flowing through hot yoga, we've got a towel for that.
Every towel is made right here in our studio, and we put real care into each one. We believe a good towel should be functional, durable, and something you actually enjoy using.

Made in the USA — We source our materials from US suppliers and stand behind transparent, ethical manufacturing. It matters to us.
Customization — Names, initials, monograms, team logos, funny phrases, full custom designs — if you can dream it up, we'll do our best to stitch it.
Quality You Can Count On — We use premium microfiber cloth and stitch every design with top-of-the-line German 100% poly thread, so your towel looks just as good after the 50th wash as it did on day one. We check and double-check every order before it leaves our hands.
A Personal Touch — When your order ships, we'll send you a quick note with a photo of your finished towel — just to make sure it's exactly what you were hoping for.
